Haliburton Highlands Water Trails

The Haliburton Highlands Water Trails is a backcountry canoe route system municipally managed by the Township of Algonquin Highlands. Choose from two areas to launch your kayak: the Frost Centre or Poker Lakes. Frost Centre Area

The Frost Centre Area encompasses 26,500 hectares of canoe routes on more than 60 lakes with eleven public access points! Most access points are available off Highway 35 North. Poker Lakes Area

The Poker Lakes Area features 1,800 hectares of backcountry with access to twelve lakes. Access points are available at 5128 Highway 118 and on the Cinder Lake access road, off Black River Road. The Poker Lakes area offers smaller lakes and ponds, ideal for novice paddlers. One of the most popular options is Big East Lake, a large lake with abundant bays and islands to discover!
