The Best Places to Go Cross-Country Skiing in Ontario

Cross-country skiing, also known as nordic skiing, is a phenomenal way to explore the stunning Ontario scenery surrounding our adults-only resort. There are several trail systems close by that are perfect for skiers of all skill levels.

  • The Haliburton Highlands Nordic Trail & Ski Club Association helps maintain several trails. To explore these paths, you will need to purchase day passes, which can be bought at all trailheads. You will need to either bring cash or pay by e-transfer.
  • Glebe Park, also home to the Haliburton Sculpture Forest, features 13.5 kilometres of both skate and classic trails. There is even a 1.5 km lit loop for those looking to ski at night. These trails are more challenging, so we recommend that only experienced skiers try them.
  • The trails at Moosewoods Park range from easy to intermediate levels, making them an excellent option for those new to the sport. There are over 12 kilometres worth of trails at this park off Country Road 14.
  • Another great option is the paths found inside Twin Lakes Park. Located off Highway 35 between Minden and Carnorvan, this park is home to seven kilometres of trails ranging from easy to intermediate.
