Beautiful setting, and an amazing breakfast. Very quaint and charming atmosphere, very nice and helpful staff. Will be back in the winter to get use out of the fire place. My only negative was dinner was a little too fancy for the resort, I think more traditional pub food would suit better.

Sir Sam's Inn and Spa provided us with an excellent experience this past winter. We stayed at Sir Sam's in early February for a getaway weekend. We arrived to a clean and cozy room with a comfortable King bed and a large jacuzzi tub that the two of us were able to enjoy together. The front desk staff gave us fire starters and some kindling to enjoy the fireplace during the night. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal package as the food was delicious. During our stay, we enjoyed three massage treatments and each one was professional and hit all the right spots! We enjoyed the large spa pool but headed to our room to enjoy the one in the room. Overall, we loved our stay at Sir Sam's and are looking forward to returning for our next getaway! There are amenities that could use some updating in the large spa area but we did see evidence of updates happening and more than enjoyed the large private jacuzzi tub in our room. Some information regarding the fireplace might be needed as we saw multiple rooms with heavy smoke coming out at them during our stay (I think from not using the plume properly). An easy solution could be having a QR code by each fireplace which links to a brief tutorial video on proper and safe fireplace use.

Amazing experience at Sir Sam's. Staff (Taylor) at the front desk and restaurant are super helpful and courteous. The spa is very nice. There are Balinese beds by the pool to relax in. The "waterfalls" for massaging your back are cool, but probably safer to not massage your back that way. Might cause misalignment 🙂 The cold splash under the bucket is another cool feature. There is a nice 'champagne grotto' with the white curtains and little bubbles. The temperature is kept warm and comfortable. The ladies shower I used had a clogged shower drain, which wasn't nice. Breakfast is very nice. You get a continental 'starter' breakfast including smoothie shots, while waiting for what you ordered. For dinner, we had the trout, ravioli and some forgettable vegetarian food. The good thing is, if you call them a week or so ahead, they can create a nice menu for your specific needs. Unfortunately you can only book the spa treatments till 4 pm, and we were out and about every day. Winter dance dog sledding nearby is a lot of fun. So is the sculpture forest walk and skyline park for the view. We also enjoyed the Forest Wolf Centre (entrance fee is $15 per person). Abbey's Garden nearby was a neat little shop with some quality jams and relishes etc. The rooms on the lake we stayed in, had steps going down, so may not be best for mobility issues. They had carpets on the floor, so bring your inhaler if you have asthma. Sir Sam's is right on the water, which is really good for summer activities like kayaking, swimming and fishing etc.

Nice and charming hotel. Food was great on the dining plan. Trouble getting the shower to behave properly for temperature. Massage was wonderful. Overall a lovely weekend getaway! Even saw some deer posing for photos near the property!

Me and my bf went to have breakfast at Sir Sam’s inn and spa, and we had an amazing experience. Food was amazing, very friendly environment and not expensive for the quality! Love it 100% recommended. We will be back!

We just got back form a two night stay and had an excellent time. Very comfortable room with a jacuzzi tub and wood burning fireplace. The meals package was well worth it as everything was delicious with good size portions. The waterspa was a blast, very clean with five different therapeutic experiences plus a plunge bucket - we gave that a pass. Also, the location is very attractive, inside and out. Some of the amenities could use updating and I am sure it's ongoing, but everything worked and that's all we could ask. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They definitely want to please you. We will be back.

We had an awesome time at Sir Sam’s! The inside of the property is a bit rundown (mainly in the common areas), but the rooms have definitely been refreshed and have actual wood burning fireplaces which is an awesome touch. The waterspa was also incredible - 3 different spas within the pool itself, and since the resort was at half capacity, we had the pool to ourselves the whole time. The best part- we got the meal plan package, and oh wow was the food delicious! We’d return just for the meal alone! Thanks to Joshua for his warm welcome to the resort. Overall a great stay and looking forward to returning again in the future!

This is a fantastic getaway spot. The location is so quiet and beautiful, you can just unwind and relax. The spa itself is wonderful. There's multiple areas in the pool with different ways to help you relax. When you're done with the spa area, there is a sauna to help continue the journey to relaxation. See if you can get a massage from Christine. I was more tenderized than a Wagyu sirloin when we were done. Their drink menu is very unique, the cocktails are made almost exclusively with alcohols distilled in Ontario. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The tea and coffees are locally sourced as well. Everything that we ordered at the restaurant was delicious. If the lamb is on special (as it was for us) I very much recommend it. The rooms that we stayed in were cosy. Each room seems to have it's own patio area and fire place. They're not large rooms, but then again, you shouldn't be spending much time in there at this resort. All of the staff in general didn't really feel like staff, they felt like friends welcoming us into their home. You can feel that each team member cares very much about the place The whole experience delivered the authentic small-town Ontario vibe, with all of the charms. Someone loved this place so much that they decided to propose to their girlfriend here on the first night of our stay. I was asked to take video of it. Also on-site, depending on the season, there are boats, tennis court, games room, outside fire area, deck chairs for sunbathing, and just up the hill there is a ski hill for the winter months. I'll very likely do another visit here.

I stayed at Sir Sam's for 3 nights in March 2023, looking for a place that was not too busy (off season) and luxurious enough that I felt pampered. I went by myself in order to recharge my social battery. I cannot say enough about the service and the staff at this resort. From the time of booking to day of check out, I was treated like a princess! Veronica's unending patience with checking me in and answering my bottomless pit of questions and requests, Devynn's knowledge of the resort and surrounding area and super accommodating attitude, Tracy (sp?) at the bar, who provided me with my ice-ice-baby :), the chef, who I never laid eyes on but made me the most amazing pasta dinner for room service, and of course Sarah, who's crystals advice, spa hostess skills, and especially her heads up for me to look upward in order to experience the most amazing northern lights show I have ever witnessed!!! My room was cozy with my own balcony, whirlpool tub, fireplace, and fridge and coffee machine, with amazing views of Eagle Lake. The water spa was absolutley delightful! (I recommend to go and watch the sunset) I went in after dark to soak up the starlit roof surrounded by soft blue-light. But the staff are definitely what will guarantee a return trip for me, 5 star service for sure! Thank you all so much for making my getaway special xoxo

My wife and I spent this past weekend at Sir Sam's. We had an amazing time. The room was great - decent size, great view, wood burning fireplace and a comfortable bed. The food was superb. Every meal was excellent and full of flavour. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We both got a massage on Saturday morning and were very relaxed from that point on. We hadn't been to the Inn in almost 16 years but it lived up to our high expectations. Thank you Sir Sam's staff for making our much needed weekend away very memorable.
